Custom Concrete

Concrete Countertops
& Bar Tops.

Custom cast or overlay concrete surfaces — integral colors, embedded objects, and edge profiles that make every piece one-of-a-kind.

◆ Every Piece Is Unique
Cast vs. Overlay

Built for
Your Space.

Concrete countertops can be approached two ways, and we offer both. Cast concrete — either poured in-place or fabricated off-site and installed as slabs — creates a thick, structural surface with full depth and full aggregate character. Concrete overlay is a 3/8"–1/2" skim coat applied directly over existing laminate, tile, or plywood substrate, giving you the look of concrete at a fraction of the weight and cost.

Both methods support unlimited integral color pigments, decorative embedded objects — shells, sea glass, stone, metal inlays — and a full range of custom edge profiles. No two concrete surfaces we make are identical. That's the point.

Cast-In-Place vs. Pre-Cast

Cast-in-place is poured directly in your kitchen or bar — no seam lines, perfect fit around sinks and corners, but requires careful site prep. Pre-cast off-site allows for better quality control, curing in a controlled environment, and complex forms — then delivered and installed as finished slabs. We'll recommend the right approach for your project.

Embedded Objects

Glass pieces, shells, river rock, decorative stone, coins, fossils, custom metal inlays — anything that can be positioned in a form before the pour can be captured permanently in your surface. This is where custom concrete becomes truly personal.

What We Offer

Countertop Options.

Every project is custom — here's the full range of methods, finishes, and add-ons we work with.

Cast-In-Place

Concrete poured directly into forms built on your existing cabinets. No seam lines, no weight limitations, fits perfectly around any configuration. The most seamless result for complex layouts with sinks, cooktops, or irregular shapes.

Pre-Cast Off-Site

Fabricated in a controlled shop environment, allowing longer cure time, better surface quality, and more complex form work. Delivered and set as finished slabs. Ideal for projects where shop access is limited or the design requires precision mold work.

Countertop Overlay ~1/2"

A polymer-modified concrete overlay applied at 3/8"–1/2" thickness directly over your existing substrate. No cabinet reinforcement required. The fastest, lightest-weight way to get the look of concrete countertops, including on vertical surfaces and bathroom vanities.

Color Options

Unlimited integral pigments mixed directly into the concrete — from natural gray and warm limestone tones to deep charcoal, slate, terracotta, and custom matches. Color goes all the way through the slab, so chips and scratches never expose a different color underneath.

Edge Profiles

Choose from standard bullnose (rounded), beveled, eased, or dramatic waterfall edges that flow vertically to the floor. Raw industrial edges with exposed aggregate are also available. Edge profile is one of the most visible design choices — we'll show you samples.

Food-Safe Sealing

All kitchen countertops are sealed with penetrating food-safe sealers that comply with FDA guidelines for incidental food contact. We use non-toxic, water-based penetrating sealers rather than surface film sealers — they don't yellow, peel, or require stripping.

Applications

Where We Work.

Concrete surfaces work indoors and outdoors, in residential homes and commercial spaces alike.

Kitchen Countertops

The classic application. Concrete kitchen counters are heat-resistant, completely customizable, and built to last decades.

Bathroom Vanities

Overlay and pre-cast vanity tops with integrated sink forms. Custom shapes and built-in soap dishes possible.

Bar Tops

Residential home bars and commercial bar tops — long spans, integrated drains, embedded bottle openers, and full edge customization.

Outdoor Kitchens

UV-stable pigments and exterior-grade sealers for grill surrounds, outdoor prep areas, and covered patio counters.

Fire Pit Surrounds

Heat-tolerant concrete surrounds for gas and wood fire pits. Embedded stone and glass aggregate for dramatic firelight reflection.

Reception Desks

Commercial reception counters and feature walls. Concrete's industrial character pairs powerfully with modern office and hospitality interiors.

Custom concrete countertops are generally comparable in price to mid-grade granite and are typically less expensive than premium quartz or marble. However, the comparison isn't apples-to-apples — concrete is fully custom (color, shape, edge, embedded objects) while slab materials are selected from stock. You're paying for design flexibility, not just a surface.
Properly fabricated and sealed concrete countertops are extremely durable — they won't shatter like tile, they're heat-resistant, and the integral color goes all the way through so chips don't show dramatically. They can develop hairline micro-cracks over time (a characteristic of the material, not a structural failure), which most owners find adds to the surface's character. If you want completely crack-free, pre-polished quartz may suit you better.
Day-to-day: wipe with a damp cloth and mild dish soap. Avoid harsh abrasive cleaners and bleach. Re-apply a food-safe penetrating sealer once or twice per year (takes about 15 minutes). With proper maintenance, a concrete countertop will look great for decades.
Concrete itself is highly heat-resistant — you can set a hot pan on it without damage. However, the sealer layer can be damaged by prolonged high heat, so we recommend trivets for caution. For staining: properly sealed concrete resists most common kitchen stains. Acidic foods (lemon juice, vinegar, tomato) can etch the sealer over time if left standing — prompt wiping prevents this.
Pre-cast pieces are fabricated over 1–2 weeks in shop, then installed in a half-day to full day depending on scope. Cast-in-place work takes 2–3 days on-site including form building, pour, and finishing. Concrete needs to cure for at least 28 days before full sealing — we'll give you a complete timeline during the estimate.
